1.Fetal monitoring plot

a.When a path starts

Base line rate ,Variability,Heart rate

b.During labor

Uterine contractions ,Heart rate ,Variability,Reassuring&Non reassuring

2.Fetal monitoring standard :

It is assumed that all necessary resources both human and equipment’s ,materials are available readily for Featl monitoring .The Continuous CTG monitoring ,as compared with intermittent auscultation is the done .The CTG recordings are to be noted and interpreted .

3.Intrauterine resuscitation:

It is defined as the measures that are commonly initiated during labor when the fetal Heart rate (FHR) pattern is indeterminate or abnormal .

4.two main goals of intrauterine resuscitation:

Increase oxygen delivery to the placenta

Maternal repositioning and optimising maternal fluid status .

5.Three main interventions of intrauterine resuscitation

The three main interventions of intrauterine resuscitation are ,

  1. Amnioinfusion- Insertion of fluid into amniotic cavity to alleviate compression of umbilical cord
  2. Tocolysis - Therapy used to delay preterm labor by temporarily stopping contractions .
  3. Intravenous hypertonic dextrose .

6.Normal alterations in a patient after child birth :

Temperature :Slightly elevated 0.5 degree for the first 24 hours . it has to be measured every twice,four hours and eight hours after birth to prevent postpartum infections.

Pulse: Physiological bradycardia ,pulse to be assessed every15 mts .

B/P: No change is counted but may result in hypotension

Power level: less

Uterus: Fundus of the uterus begins to contract ,Feeling of chills,Uterus changes in size from one kg to 60-80 gms after delivery.

Lochia: Post partum period vaginal secretion is called as lochia which is discharge containing blood,mucus and uterine tissue .

Perineum: perineum remains soft and begins to return to size .pain in perineum

Legs :Swollen

Breast : Breast prepare for lactation ,First secretions are known as colostrum .Breast begins to produce milk ,Cracked nipples also present

Appetite: Calories must be changed based on the breast feeding ,increase in appetite ,calories given 2500kcal/day .

Elimination : Thirst is present ,constipation ,faltulence
