The diseases that affect the production of blood and its components are also prevented by using hematology. Blood disorders include cancer of blood, clots of blood, excessive bleeding, hemophilia and many more.

laboratory staff do the diagnostic tests of blood related diseases. Hematologists are the physicians those hold speciality in hematology. Blood related diseases are treated by hematologists. Heamtologists also work in laboratories. People who works in laboratories are also called as pathologists and are specialised in detection of hematological diseases

Oncology is a study of cancers. This includes treatment, prevention and diagnosis. Oncologist deals with the cancer patients.
