Adolescence is the time for puberty changes and growth or development spurts and it is stage of to grow several inches in a short period of time.Puberty changes may become visible at the same time.

Sequences of changes during the growth spurt:

In Girls,the puberty will start at the age of age 9-12 years.Growth will be raise after the puberty of 2years that is on her first period.Girls experience puberty by a number of sequence of events but it usually seen early in boys compared to girls.

The following changes will seen:

  • Puberty beginning at the age of 9-12years
  • Breast development is the first change
  • Pubic hair development
  • Underarm hair at the age of 12years
  • Menstrual period at the age of 10-15years
  • Height will raise

In boys,puberty usually starts at the age of 11-12yrs old.All the puberty changes will complete with in three to four years.The growth spurts starts first with the feet,torso and in hands.It is difficult to understand the development of puberty in boys.It will happen gradually at several stages.

The following stages will seen:

  • Puberty will start at the age of 11-12yrs
  • First changes is enlargement off testicles
  • Pubic hair develop at the age of 12years
  • Nocturnal emissions at the age of 14years.
  • Hair on face,voice changes and acne at the age of 14years.

Sport injuries are common during growth spurt:

Injuries,sprain and strains are common during the growth spurt because in puberty changes the bones will grow faster than the muscle and tendons that is tissues can get more stretched and strained out.While playing some kids may experience Osgood-schlatter disease(Inflammation at the patellar ligament) or heel pain.Both the diseases were caused by the rapid growth. Uneven growth of bones or posture can lead to injuries or other related problems.
