Your 85 yr old grandmother has severe osteoarthritis. She was prescribed some Celebrex because she has a sensitive stomach. If she doesn’t take a pain reliever she finds that it is extremely difficult for her to even get out of bed in the morning. She currently has hypertension and hyperlipidemia which she takes medications for. What are the risks and benefits of her taking Celebrex? Would you recommend that she continue? If so why?
