Answer #1

According to bronsted and lowery.

Acids are those which donates proton, so they are called as proton donar.

While base are those which accept proton so they are called as proton acceptor.

In the problem-

(A) , H3PO4 is acid because it's donates proton and H2O is base because is accepts proton. Also, H2PO4- is conjugate base of H3PO4, and H3O+ is conjugate acid of H2O. Thus ,acid -base pair is H3PO4 AND H2O.

(B), H2O is acid because it's donates proton while CO3 2- is base because it accept proton. OH- is conjugate base of H2O and HCO3- is conjugate acid of CO3 2-. thus acid base pair is ,H2O and CO3 2-.

(C), H3PO4 is acid because it donates proton while NH3 is base because it accepts proton. H2PO4 2- is conjugate base of H3PO4 AND NH4+ is conjugate acid of NH3. thus acid base pair is , H3PO4 and NH3.
