Community health needs assessment : According to the center for disease control act has encouraged to focus on improving the health in their communities.To address the health and need of each community, a community health meed assessment is recommended. Health need assessment describe the development and refinement of well established approaches to understand the needs of local population.

Components: They are seven component in the community health needs assessment

3. Qualitative research with the healthcare community

Importance of community health needs assessment:

• Over the past 30 yrs cost of health has risen much faster that the cost increase in other sectors and health is the one of the largest sector.
• The resources available for health care are limited.
• Many population have inequitable access to adequate health care and many government are unable to provide such care.
• Availability tends to be inversely related to the need of population served.
• Other reason is consumerism.The expectation of people have led to greater concern about the quality of the services they receive and equity to appropriateness and effectiveness.
• In 1990 national health services act require health authorities to assess health needs of their population and to use the assessment to improve the health of population.
• At a primary care level through fundholding,purchasing projects,practitioners have become more central to plan and implement of health services.
