1a) Here, while adding bromocresol green, we got a green colour solution. That indicates that the solution we have taken is in equillibrium with the bromocresol green we added. ie; the pH of solution will be equal to the pH of bromocresol green. unless the solution will become yellow in low pH and blue in high pH. so we can find the pH of solution (which is equal to pH of bromocresol) from Ka value using the equation

-pH = log (Ka)

= log(1.58\times10-5 )

-pH= -4.80

pH = 4.80
