Answer: In pregnancy, there is a need of a balanced diet as well as more nutrients that adds energy to body as well as to the developing fetus. Throughout the pregnancy, women need better nutrients and foods but during the second trimester there is more need of calcium and iron, these are needed especially for bone and cell growth, and also blood to carry oxygen to the fetus. Including healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables keep gums healthy.

There is a constant need for carbohydrates, proteins, calcium, good fats etc. Consumption of water should be more in pregnancy. Addition of carrots, green beans, cabbage etc.are very helpful for a balanced diet in the second trimester of pregnancy. For the third trimester the foods should be included as same as second trimester and little exercise should be done. Increase intake of small meals within regular intervals so as to fulfil the craving of food.
