Answer #1

1) given formula units of CaCl2 = 7.79 × 1023 formula units

Relation between no. of moles and formula unit :

No. of moles of a compound =Formula units of compound/Avogadro's number

So no. of moles of CaCl2

= 7.79 × 1023 formula units/ 6.022× 1023formula unit per mole

= 1.293 moles CaCl2

2) grams of RbF given= 68.8g

Molar mass of RbF = (atomic mass of Rb ×1) + (atomic mass of F × 1)

= ( 85.46g/mol × 1) + ( 19g/mol × 1)

= 104.46g/mol

As no. of moles = grams of compound/ molar mass of compound

No of moles of RbF = 68.8g/ 104.46gmol-1

= 0.659 moles RbF
