Primary, secondary and tertiary are used to define alkyl halides but benzene is not an alkyl halide. In benzene, the halogen is bonded to double bonded sp2 hybridised carbon. So, it is not alkyl halide.

However benzene ring is aromatic. So, it better classified as aromatic

Answer: aromatic
