1). A KYC form has basic, personal information about the client such as name, DOB, address, employment, family information etc which an IPS does not except for the required ones like name and age.

2). An IPS contains investment targets and constraints for a client, which a KYC does not.

3). An IPS lists out the duties and responsibilities of the financial advisor and guidelines about how to select a portfolio for the client keeping in mind the client's risk profile. A KYC form will not carry details about investment strategy and portfolio details.
