Q.No.2 Orientaion of substituents around the carbon-carbon double bond in both the compounds are Z. it means that higher priority groups/substituents about the C-C double bonds are present on the same sidel Syn arrangement. While assigning the IUPAC name for both compounds, first compound contains eight carbon atoms in the longest carbon chain hence word root is oct, there is presence of double bond at second position, methyl group at second and fifth position and both chlorine present at first and sixth position of parent chain respectively and accordingly write the name. Z represent the orientation of substituents about double bond. similarly IUPAC name has been assigned for second compound. ОН (Z)-1,6-dichloro-2,5-dimethyloct-2-ene (Z)-6-chloro-2-ethyl-5-methylhept-2-en-1-ol
