Answer #1

Answer 1):- The metal that reacted the most aggressively with water was " K (Potassium)".

The balanced chemical reaction of potassium (K) with water:

K (s) + H2O (l) \rightarrow KOH (aq) + H2 (g)

The formula for the gas produced when that metal reacted with water was H2 (hydrogen).

The remaining solution was basic (because of KOH).

The order of reactivity is:

Mg (least reactive) < Ca < Na < K ( most reactive)

Answer 2):- Al (Aluminium) loses its electrons more easily.

Explaination:- Generally the ionisation energy increases, as we move left to right in periodic table. But first ionization energy of group 2 elements is more than group 13 and also ionisation energy of group 15 elements is more than group 16 elements.

Electronic configuration of P : [Ne] 3s2 3p3 .

Answer 3):- S8 + O2 \rightarrow SO2

SO2 + H2O \rightarrow H2SO3

----------------

Answer 4):- Going across a period from left to right , the oxides of the elements get more acidic.

P4S3 + 8 O2 \rightarrow P4O10 + 3 SO2

Answer 5):- Ca is converted by CaO: b) by heating it with a Bunsen burner.

The colour if I2 crystals was: d) purple to black

The mechanism of the reaction (below) is straightforward and is driven by boron's affinity for oxygen. In addition, given borohydride's remarkably low reactivity with OH groups under neutral and especially basic conditions, this reaction can be done in alcohol solvents....
