An EBP environment can ensure excellence in outcome in today’s rapidly changing healthcare system. For a successful EBP, the process must be integrated into everyday clinical practice.
Financial aspect:
One of the financial aspects of the EBP project would be the hours that have to be utilized to train the nurses to practice it. The documentation system also demands more working hours from nurses. This will, in turn, increases the hours of pay and would be the financial aspect of the proposed project. New and efficient clinical practices can be developed and incorporated in practice by EBP.
For providing efficient care, translating evidence into practice is very important to healthcare with the increased focus on lowering costs through reduced lengths of stay and prevention of hospital-acquired infection. By applying EBP nurses can eliminate or minimize the rate of avoidable events like a hospital-acquired infection. Researchers have found that establishing EBP leads to higher quality of care and reduces costs and such a culture helps organizations to obtain high reliability.
Quality aspects:
The EBP can answer the public cry for improved care. Evidence-based practice is an essential part of enhancing critical care nursing practice, that is important for providing quality care to patients. Adopting EBP into clinical practice will improve patient outcomes and patient, family, and healthcare provider satisfaction. The result will be reduced costs and the risk of harm by decreasing unnecessary tests and procedures. The ultimate aim of a quality outcome of an acre can be obtained by EBP.
