Performance Management is the process of encompassing all activities related to improving employee performance , productivity and effectiveness .

# The purposes of Performance Management are :-

1. Aligns employee actions with strategic goals

2. Vehicle for culture change

3. Provides input into other HR systems such as development and remuneration

It is the most effective way for firms to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive, service-oriented, through the quality of its employees.

# Performance Management Process Steps include :-

1. Define performance expectations and goals

2. Provide ongoing feedback and coaching

3. Conducting performance appraisal and eval discussions

4. Determining performance rewards/consequences

5. Conducting development and career opportunities discussions

Three key HR functions that must be integrated into the performance management system to support high levels of performance from health care workers and teams are :-

- Recruiting the right person for right job because when the right person is placed for the right task then only the task is completed and done effectively and is a vital part of good performance

- Maintaining a safe environment because to work efficiently a safe environment is a vital component and for good performance

- Employee and employee relationship because for the high standard performance good communication skills , and relationships are the compulsory components .
