Number of valence electron in each carbon atom = 4

Number of valence electron in each Oxygen atom = 6

Number of valence electron in each hydrogen atom = 1

Total number of valence electron = 3*4 + 1*6 + 6*1

= 12 + 6 + 6

= 24

Answer: 24
