stroke cause by mainly two causes- a. low blood supply ( less oxygen supply) - which may cause by thrombus formation, embolosm b. bleeding or hemorrghic condition-intracerebral bleeding,subarachnoid hemrrhage Risk factors are- Hypertension, smoking , tobacco consuming, heavy drinking,obesity, high cholesterol level, diabetes, family history of stroke, heart disease like heart failure, heart defects etc, old age, use of hormonal pills |

Primary level of prevention- 1. control of BP- Monitor BP, use of antihypertensive drug,take less salt diet. 2. controlling the cholesterol level- less intake of oily food, avoid junk food , avoid deep fried food 3. quitting of smoking, toacco and alcohol- assess the habit of smoking, cigarrete and alcohol consumption.,motivate the person to avoid consuming. give health education regarding hazars of alcohol, smoking and cigarette. 4.maintain normal wight- check the weight daily, maintain the normal weight by proper diet, proper exercise etc. 5. control of blood sugar level- assess the blood sugar level, if diabetic use of antidiabetic drug. less intake of sweet diet. 6. daily exercise- daily exercise is very important for the person to be healthy. 7. healthy diet habit- assess the dietary habit, diet should include the green leafy vegetables, pulses and less fat diet. Secondary level of prevention -secondary level of disease means when the already disease occured that can be manage by early diagnosis and treatment. treatment of stroke management inclide 1. anti cogulants 2. antiplatelets drugs 3. lifestyle management 4.Oxygen management Tertiary level management- teartiary level management when the complication occrred. this is also called as rehabilitation phase.to bring the patient in normal condition from th complication these are the things should be followed- 1.active and passive exercise should be perfom daily. 2.speech therapy -for the improving the slurred speech. 3.maintain personal hygiene- patient will not be able to maintain his daily activities so meet his daily needs. 4.medication- medication should be given on proper time, proper dose. any any side effect will be seen immediately need to inform the doctor. 5.dietary mangement- patient should consume high protein and high calorie diet. |
