True statement as communicable disease models are used to describe the etiology/cause, causative organism and mode of spreading of the communicable diseases like, tuberculosis, malaria and flue.

But the multi-causation disease model describes the complex, Non-communicable disease model altered by the various factors like lifestyle, water quality , dietary habits and other environmental factors affecting the severity of the diseases like CHD, COPD, cancer and diabetes.

Hence the statement is true.
