Is a GMO Bt potato more than just Bacillus thuringiensis and a potato? Please explain why. Briefly describe a potential way that genetically modified crops could harm people who eat them
In the current pop culture usage,GMO stands for any crop that has been genetically altered for certain characteristics. Most GMOs are commodity crops like soyabeans or corn which are not consumed directly but are processed into other supermarket foods, though some GMOs are directly edible, like modified tomatoes.Bacillus Thuringiensis is a gram-positive ,soil dwelling bacterium ,commonly used as a biological alternative to a pesticide and provides a gene for production of natural toxins that kills insects and is not harmful.Yes GM potatoes are more than a potato and just Bacillus Thuringenisis as it promote browning and promote acrylamide formation ,which can cause cancer.
At this time it remains unclear whether or not GMOs cause health problems in humans. While some studies have linked GMOs to high levels of of bt-toxins in pregnant womens blood and unatural hair growth in hamsters mouth ,other studies have refuted these and other concerns about GMOconsumption.

In early 2014, Chipotle Mexican Grill announced that it would stop using genetically modified ingredients (GMOs) in its restaurants. Many observers applauded this move. However, critics of the fast-food chain cited a lack of evidence to support its anti-GMO stance. They suspected that Chipotle’s anti-GMO claim was simply a ploy to distract consumers from a larger issue: the company’s risky sanitation practices. Chipotle’s anti-GMO policies may have won the burrito chain some health-conscious customers, but at the same time customers...
