Describe and defend the two phases you think have been most influential in promoting the health of individuals. The modern era has five phases

  • Miasma ( 1850- 1888)
  • Bacteriology Phase (1880 - 1910)
  • Health resources ( 1910 - 1960)
  • Social Engineering (1960 - 1975)
  • Health promotion (1976 - 2000)

The two phases that influence health promotion on the individuals are

Bacteriology Phase:

  • During this phase, most of the microorganism were discovered.
  • Louis pauster and Robert Koch identified the microorganism that causes a specific disease.
  • This phase influence to control bacterial disease and promote vaccination programmes.

Health promotion Phase:

  • Health promotion phase promotes the concept of Human biology, behavior and environmental factors.
  • Government and Private agencies promote the health of the individual through local health agencies, welfare programmes, school health, and community health programmes.
  • It promotes healthy lifestyle behavior through health education and prevention activities.
