TOxalic acid formula : H2C2O4

Oxalic acid react with the ferric hydroxide and neutralise hydroxide ions to form water :

H2C2O4(aq) + 3OH-(aq) ---> C2O4-2(aq) + 3H2O(l)

Excess oxalic acid react with the ferric ions to form

Fe+3(aq) + 3C2O4-2(aq) ----> [Fe(C2O4)3]3-(aq)

Balanced reaction :

   Fe(OH)3(s) + 3C2O4-2(aq) + 3H+(aq)---> [Fe(C2O4)3]3-(aq) + 3H2O(l)

The principle three ions in the solution would be [Fe(C2O4)3]3-, C2O4-2 and K+ ions (obtained from potassium oxalate - K2C2O4)
