7. Decortication is the surgical process of treatment of empyema. The fibrous covering of the lung is removed to increase expansion area for the lung in this process.

8. VATS (video-assisted thoracic surgery) is the minimal invasive thoracic surgical procedure in which holes are made in the chest wall to insert surgical instruments.

9. Mediastinoscopy is the surgical procedure of mediastinum.
