1. In second trimester, weight gain should be 1.5 - 2 pounds per week and same to be continued in third trimester resulting in 20-26 pounds in 2nd and 14-22 pounds in third trimester. Hence total weight gain will be 37-54 pounds.

2. gestational hypertension,miscarriage, anemia, birth defects, premature labor and birth, postpartum hemorrhage.
