1.The patient can be seen fir fluid volume excess because of drinking gallons of water.

2.The lab results to monitor are

  • Serum electrolytes
  • Blood pH levels
  • BUN
  • Creatinine

3.This can change the vital signs in the following ways

  • Increased blood pressure
  • Difficulty in breathing due to fluid collection
  • Arrhythmia

4.The other assessment required are

  • Weight will increase due to excess fluid
  • Urine output increased
  • Physical examination
  • Ascultation to assess the heart and lung sounds
  • Edema in ankles and feet

5.The orders which can be anticipated are

  • Diuretics to remove excess fluid
  • Monitoring vital signs ,strict intake and output chart
  • Blood investigations
