According to Ericksons there are different stages of growth and development such as

0-28 days - Neonates

1 month - 1 year - Infants

1 year - 3 years - Toddlers

3 to 5 years - Pre schoolers

5 to 11 years - School age

12 to 19 years - Adolesecence

and later can be considered as Adult hood.

Now here the growth and development belongs to 16 years which comes under Adolescence.

The psychosocial aspect of concern is Identity vs role confusion.These age group will be in a zeal of identification both in their work and thoughts.Several physical changes takes place during adolescence that is from puberty to emerging adult hood.Primary and secondary sexual characteristics .Organs like ovaries and uterus develops in female which helps for reproduction.Secondary sexual characteristics such as development of breasts, pubic hair, menstruation takes place.Cognitive development takes place with most complex thinking abilities.Improvement of existing skills and ego centrism takes place.

Jean Piagets physical development can be of development of sexual characteristics.Cognitive development of experiencing high stages emotions.They often engaged in risk taking behaviours.This is because of frontal lobes development and active functioning.Experience, knowledge and social demands are the psychosocial developments observed.

Mile stones : Physical growth continues and compare to boys girls consume with looks and also fit in.

Safety Assessment and intervention:

​​​​​​​As girls are at the stages of menarche with physical development of sexual characteristics education is needed regarding the safety measures from antisocial behaviours of rape and abuse.

Also education should be given on various changes taking place in physical characteristics.

As girls does not involve in violent behaviours risk of injuries due to conflicts are rare.

Expected socialization and play can be different in adolescents.They with draw from parents that is spend less time with parents and more time with peers and friends and will be in stages of fantasy.
