Please no duplicate answers! How have costs of managed prescription drug programs evolved over the past two decades, and how pervasive are managed pharmacy programs in the U.S.?
Over the past decades the cost of prescription drug has been rising at about 10 percent per year.
so in an attempt to control cost many employers and insurers have modified pharmacy benefit
design, to control patients and physicians towards lower-cost drug and to reduce overall drug spending.
now a common approach is to assign medical stores to different tiers. like generic preffered brand drugs
and non-preffered brand drugs. Patient's co-payments depends on the tier to which a drug is assigned.
So now the cost of prescription have been reduced for creat the healthy environment foe the patients.
