Acute respiratory distress syndrome :

It is defined as it is a type of respiratory failure, it occurs when the fluid is buildup in tiny ,elastic air sacs or the alveoli, there is a less oxygen supply due to air filling in sacs so there is difficulty in breathing may arises.

Q. No. 2. Pathophysiology :

Any lung injury leads to increased permeability of AC membranes,

Due to the interstitial and intraalveolar fluid occumulation will be taken place.

Due to the decreases surfactant and atelectasis and decreased gas exchange,

Leads to decreased oxygen supply to all the vital organs and breathing difficulty.

Etiology :

* any lung infections

* any lung injuries

* Lungs tiny blood vessels may leads to leaks more fluid than normal in to the air sacs.
