Answer #1

4. Volume of drug B is 1 pint which is 473 ml.

Weight of drug is 2.1 kg or 2100 g.

density of drug is = weight / volume

which is 2100 / 473 = 4.44 g/ml

Density of water is 1 g/ml

specific gravity of drug = density of drug / density of water

which is 4.44 / 1 = 4.44

Specific gravity of drug B is 4.44

5. Volume of drug C is 90 ml and weight of drug C is 53 g.

Density of drug = weight / volume

which is 90/53 = 1.7 g / ml

specific gravity of drug = density of drug / density of water

which is 1.7 / 1 = 1.7

specific gravity of drug C is 1.7

6. The table was not posted along with the question. So I’ll use the known values for density of the given substances. If there is any difference in valves please substitute them accordingly.

6A. Volume of mercury is 50 ml.

density of mercury is 13.6 g/ml

weight of mercury = Volume x density

which is 50 x 13.6 = 68 g

weight of 50 ml mercury is 68 g.

6B. Volume of alcohol is 120 ml

density of alcohol is 0.8 g / ml

weight of alcohol = Volume x density

which is 120 x 0.8 = 96 g

weight of 120 ml alcohol is 96 g.

6C. Volume of clove oil is 2 ounces

one ounce is 30 ml. 2 ounces is 60ml

density of clove oil = 1.04 g/ml

weight of clove oil = Volume x density

which is 60 x 1.04 = 62.4 g

weight of 2 ounces clove oil is 62.4 g
