According to the textbook, nurses in various settings are adopting a research-based (or evidence-based) practice that incorporates research findings into their decisions and interactions with clients. How do you see this being applied in your workplace?
Evidence based practice is the amalgamation of the recent research into clinical practice.it helps nurses to be updated with the current knowledge and use the most updated research finding in care of patients.
Evidence based practice has led to increase in quality and safe patient care.
We in our institution also use evidence based practice in the care of our patients for example
1.nurse patient ratio: the newer research studies have proven that a ICU nurse to patient ratio should be 1:1 for ventilated and 1:2 for non ventilated patients this findings was implemented in our hospital where we earlier had a ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 .and we could see the outcome of fewer Hospital acquired infection, fewer accidental line removals, medication errors And patient falls
2.Use of 10cm extension 3 way bivalve for all peripheral line has evidence of lesser mechanical phlebitis.this was incorporated in our hospital and we found a rise in Catheter indwelling time
3. Rotation of insulin site to prevent atrophy: This evidence was used and we distributed insulin site identifiers to all staffs and the staff had to document the site after giving subcutaneous injections. This led to forcefull rotation of insulin site which reduced patients developing atrophy, hardening, site abscess
So each of these examples are evidenced based practices which we follow in our institute

How does the focus of research and evidence-based practice (EBP) differ ? Discuss the application of research findings into evidence-based practice .
What are some of the types of settings typically found in evidence based research and how do they differ in control?
Nurses may be intimidated by research and by interpreting research evidence. If you were the manager or leader how would you create a culture that would support research and the use of research evidence in practice.
Professional nurses rely on research findings to inform practice decisions; they use critical thinking to apply research directly to specific patient care situations. Think about an independent nursing practice problem you care passionately about and would be interested in searching for evidence. *For the below questions, medical/doctor/physician problems will not be used, for example, treatments such as medications or diagnostics such as cardiac catherizations. Also, broad practice problems such as staffing issues, workforce issues, or patient ratios will not be...
Evidence-based practice involves the integration of research evidence, clinical expertise, patient needs and practice context. How would you incorporate clinical reasoning with regards to your project?
After reading the article Nurses strug gle to implement evidence-based practice, reflect on your experiences with evidence-based care. What barriers have you seen prevent nurses from implementing evidence-based practices? What strategies have been effective in removing those barriers?
