EBP-EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES

EVvidence-based practice is a problem-solving approach to patient care along with clinician's expertise, clear assessment of patients and patient's own preferences which results in safe and better outcomes and also in low healthcare costs.

BARRIERS: The most common barriers are a) lack of time and knowledge and b) resistance (not interested in changing what they had practiced)

STRATEGIES TO OVERCOME THE BARRIERS IN EBP: There are a variety of strategies to overcome barriers to implement evidence-based practice in nursing and have the effects on changing nurses knowledge, beliefs and attitudes towards EBP. To overcome these barriers, the following strategies would help to implement EBP in nursing a) STAKEHOLDERS: engaging to appropriate stakeholders is the most important methods to overcome barriers in nursing. It identifies the outcomes and help to plan a better project and implementation strategy b) SUPPORT: developing an organizational culture will help to implement EBP c) EDUCATION: giving more information to the workers about the evidence-based practices helps to make aware of the changes need to be in patient care and changes the way they had practiced. Willingness and work together ensure an EBP environment that lead to better outcomes for both then knowledge of the nurses and also to the outcome of patients.
