Labour is the process in which the childbirth takes places which starts from contraction to the delivery of the baby or the foetus.

While admitting a new patient in labor, the key labs and assessment information that is needed to provide the best care for a patient are as follow:

- a consent is taken from the patient as well as the family members

- all the tests should be done like non stress test and contraction test before sending

- blood tests should be done for later use of needed for emergency LSCS

- all the reports should be checked before like the expected date of delivery and the condition of the mother like all the health conditions, prenatal assessment should be done like check the foetal weight appropriate for gestational age, check for the presentation and presenting parts, etc.

- check for mother's health condition for the presence of any disease condition like diabetes mellitus or hypertension etc.
