1 Everyone in the organisation should participate in quality control because each individuals benefit from it,quality control,gives employees feedback about their current quality care and how their care can be improved.As a direct care giver,staff nurses are in an excellent position to monitor nursing practice by identifying problems and implementing corrective actions that have the greatest impact on patient care.

2 According to Simpson the cost of quality care made up of the aggregate cost of non-conforming plus the cost of conforming to customer requirement.The five elements that make up the cost of quality care are

• Cost of preventing mistakes i.e Employee training.
• The cost of appraisal i.e auditing and quality assurance.
• The cost of failure i.e errors and emissions.
• The cost of exceeding requirements i.e producing information that nobody needs
• The cost of lost opportunities i.e lost market share and reduced revenues.
