net resistance of upper wire

Ru = 5 + 8.2/2 = 9.1

net resistance of lower wire

RL = 2 + 4*12/ ( 4+12) = 5

net resistance of the circuit

R = 5 + 9.1 * 5 / ( 5+ 9.1) = 8.227

Current through circuit,

i = 20 / 8.227

i = 2.431 A

Current through lower wire

i' = 2.431* Ru / ( Ru + RL)

i' = 1.569 A

Current through 12 ohm

I = i' * 4/(4+12)

I = 0.392 A
