Unit Standard of care provides unique care of treatment within the group. Unit standard of care is part of a patient's care where every patient has to be treated with a common protocol. Some protocols applied to particular groups of the patient in a defined population. Unit standard of care is the minimum care that every patient to get irrespective of their diagnosis. It is the list of necessary things to be done to a patient.

e.g of some other defined situation is postnatal ward where all mother needs some basic care.

Assessment: Postnatal mother must be assessed for involution, level of vaginal bleeding, the ability for breastfeeding.

Intervention: Maximise the bonding between the mother and the child.

Educate about the importance of breastfeeding and breastfeeding techniques.

Encourage to do postnatal exercises.

Provide care to the newborn.

Educate the patient about the immunization schedule.

Evaluation: Evaluate the mother for a better understanding of newborn care and postnatal care.

The pregnant women who have been in due to delivery without delivery pain(subgroups) have to be administered with oxytocin to induce pain. It is the common protocol followed to induce pain. But it is not followed for every mother who undergoes delivery.
