WHO and CDC work on infection control by preventing unsafe practice by avoiding needle prick injury, avoiding infection agents, proper handwashing, proper immunization, avoiding blood contamination, etc. Health care professionals' initiation in preventing the spread of infectious diseases can prevent the spread of infectious diseases in an effective way.

Preventing and controlling infection is an important aspect of infection control. health care professionals they have to control the infection by avoiding the cycle of infection. cycle of infection is a chain of infection. it has 6 links to spread the infection through an infectious agent like bacteria, virus, reservoir(person), mode of transmission, vector to transmit the disease, mode of entry is a method, a host that is vulnerable people to get an infection.

Indirect infection occurs when the people sneeze, cough sending infection through air, when touching contaminated objects transmission through mouth, nose, eyes, when we consume contaminated food and drinks, animal to person contact by bites and through animal waste, through environmental reservoir like soil, water when it has infectious agent it transmit infection to people.

Inanimated material or object called fomite when it contaminated with the infectious agent when a person touches the object the infection transmits to the person's body. Fomits include contaminated vehicles, cloth, bucket, etc. It is indirect infection transmission, safety precautions like food safety, safe handling, hand washing can reduce the risk of vehicle-borne fomite infection.
