The purpose of this work is to educate the professional nurse about the responsibility that a nursing administrator has with the shifts and rotations of the month. In addition, it offers the nursing student the opportunity to analyze the importance of these shifts, which seek to assign the number of nursing personnel necessary for the Assigned Unit.

Instructions: Complete the shift table following the instructions below. Remember that you can be creative using 8-hour shifts, per diem, etc. You can make a separate program for LPN staff.

1. This itinerary corresponds to an Emergency Room unit.

2. You only have 18 graduate nurses to complete the task, you have 1 nursing assistant to supply materials.

3. All nurses must have two consecutive or separate days off within the one-week period and if they work 5 consecutive days, they must have their two consecutive days off

4. All nurses must have at least one weekend off per month.

5. One of the graduate nurses requested 10 days off to celebrate her wedding and go on a honeymoon.

6. A RN is on regular vacation for 20 labor days in the month.

7. One graduate nurse will return from regular vacation on February 15 and another will go on vacation on February 16.

8. A graduate nurse will be on maternity leave all month.

9. A registered nurse is reported ill by the State Insurance Fund.

10. In the 7-3 shift you must have a minimum of 4 graduate nurses.

11. In the 3-11 shift you must have at least 5 graduate nurses.

12. In the 11-7 shift you must have a minimum of 3 graduate nurses.

13. One of the graduate nurses cannot work shift 3-11 because she studies in the afternoons and another graduate nurse works 11-7 because she studies in the morning, both to complete her bachelor
