The Framingham Heart Study was very important study as this was based on the identification of common factors responsible for development of cardiovascular disease/disorders. And this knowledge can further be utilized for the prevention of such risk based conditions.

For the example high blood cholesterol level in the form of LDL and VLDL are the major factors for development of cardiovascular risks like Atherosclerosis, characterized by the plaque formation in arteries.
