Red ribbons and red clothes are used to prevent the evil eyes. Some hispanics believe that girl foetus take longer time than boy to develop into human shape. Many are afraid of occurrences of an eclipse because it may affect the foetus. So they are used to wear keys to prevent such occurrences.
Many preventable health care measures is lower because of this hispanic culture.Same time this cultures will directly influence the nursing care for women in labor. Screening tests like breast examination and papanicolauo smear are minimal in hispanic women. The tradition of paternalism in hispanic women results in hesitant to participate in their health checkup . The health care provider should be aware of the cultural diversity and beliefs when treating hispanic women so that the womens are respected and the patient inturn respect physicians opinions and advice.
