no of moles = mass / molar mass

a) for CH3OH = 10g / 32.04 g/mol => 0.3121 moles

2 mol CH3OH --------------------> 2 mol CO2

0.3121 mol ------------------------>?

=> 0.3121 * 2 / 2 => 0.3121 mol

mass of CO2 = 0.3121 * 44 => 13.733 grams

b) for CH3OH = 20g / 32.04 g/mol => 0.6232 moles

2 mol CH3OH --------------------> 4 mol H2O

0.6242 mol ------------------------>?

=> 0.6242 * 4 / 2 => 1.2484 mol

mass of H2O => 1.2484 * 18 => 22.472 grams

c) for CH3OH = 50g / 32.04 g/mol => 1.5605 moles

2 mol CH3OH --------------------> 3 mol O2

1.5605 mol ------------------------>?

=> 1.5605 * 3 / 2 => 2.341 mol

mass of O2 = 2.341 * 32 => 74.91 grams

d) moles of H2O = 40 / 18 => 2.222 moles

2mol CH3OH ---------------> 4 mol H2O

? -------------------------> 2.222 mol

=> 2.222 * 2 / 4 => 1.111 moles

mass of CH3OH => 1.111 * 32.04 => 35.6 grams
