let probability of stopping at first and second signal is A and B

hence P(A)=0.35 ; P(B)=0.55 ; P(A u B)=0.8

a)P(stop at both signs)=P(A n B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A u B)=0.35+0.55-0.8=0.10

b)P(A n Bc) =P(A)-P(A n B)=0.35-0.10=0.25

c)P(stops at exactly one signal)=P(A u B)-P(A n B)=0.8-0.10=0.70
