Introduction

In microeconomics it is widely believed that the success of an organization depends upon the effectiveness of the administration at all levels be it the lowest level which supervises end to end staff or the top management tasked with overseeing that the vision and mission of the organization get effectively implemented.

On the other hand, when implemented at a country level the same are also equally relevant. Administration is the core of a country and requires efficiency to ensure that the growth of a country does not get impacted and that relevant decisions are taken so that everyone benefits from the same.

In short at both individual firm and a countries aspect, effective administration is extremely important. But to achieve this skills are required which can be broken down as follows to allow for it to be good.

A good one being able to deliver on both quality and quantity of decisions undertaken.

Skills Required For Effective Administrator

An effective administrator is someone who is able to deliver planned results in a time bound manner within the limits of accepted quality respectively. This is usually done by following 3 skill set categories which can be explained as follows:-

Human Skills:-

An effective administrator realizes that it isn't possible for him to undertake all tasks by himself. It is important for him to be competent enough but on the other hand what is most important is his ability to get work done by others which is often called as the Human Skill set of an effective administrator.

This involves the communication which one has with their subordinates and seniors and the leadership which they can implement in the organization so that work gets done in the quality and quantity desired in a time bound manner.

An effective administrator is someone who the subordinate feels comfortable with in conversing and helps in maintaining a smooth relationship at all levels respectively.

Technical Skills:-

The second important skill for an administrative to have is the fact that they must be technically competent enough to do the task themselves as well so that key decision making does not get impacted.

Imagine a finance manager having no skill of finance and a finance minister having no skill of the same. It would lead to problems on multiple lines and is not encouraged.

For smooth decision making and to ensure that subordinates feel equal part of the organization, skills of the administrator must be higher than the people working below and companies must ensure this that their administrative management has the required competency required to take decision and the same should also reflect in the macroeconomic context respectively.

Conceptual Skills and Foresight:-

As an administrator it is important that the person sees the problem at hand with a bigger context and is foresighted and can shape the future of an organization/country.

Good administrators are those people who can see the future themselves and implement strategies which will help them as people grow and will allow for seamless growth.

An effective administrator has the ability of viewing the organization as one while taking critical decisions. For example tax cuts might be a good strategy to effect votes but would have a long lasting effect on the economy. An effective administrator has the ability of seeing the future and taking relevant decisions which will benefit not only in the short run but also the long run respectively.
