According to newspaper reports 35% of Americans are dog owners.

From the above bootstrap we can see : at 95% confidence interval

Lower limit is 0.298279 and Upper limit is 0.382409

Since 0.35 or 35% lies in the above confidence interval .

Hence we can say No there is no evidence that the proportion of students that are dog owners in the study is different from the national percentage
