Answer #1

Assuming the Gas to be Ideal for both the problems,

1. According to the Gay-Lussac's Law, the pressure of a given amount of gas held at constant volume is directly proportional to the Absolute temperature. So, p2/p1=T2/T1

Here, p1=4 atm., T1=463 K, T2=588 K

Therefore, Final Pressure of the Gas(at 315°C)

=(588/463) x 4 = 5.08 atm.

2. According to the Charles' Law, the volume of a fixed mass of a gas is directly proportional to the absolute temperature, at constant pressure. So, V2/V1 = T2/T1

Here, T1=273 K, T2=683 K & V1=512 mL

Therefore, Final Volume of the Gas(at 410°C)

=(683/273) x 512 = 1280.94 mL
