Tuberculosis is developed due to a bacterial infection.that is mycobacterium tuberculi..this is a rod shaped bacteria which spread throgh air born or droplet .when it is inhaled immune system of body reacts by engulfi g it.and then forma a tubercle that assist bacteria to t spreads

Tuberculosis progression occurs in three stages which are primary infection,latent infectin and active disease..when a person take breathe air which is contaminated by those who effected with active disease.it is a communicable disease and it is transmitted from person to person.person who has low immunity such as Aids patient,kidney patient,children,old age,pregnant women are at greater risk of infection.this is called primary infection.when bacteria remained in dormant state inside the cells for many years called latent infection.when bacteria start to divide and multipy and cause the disease.in this stage people become sick and spread infections .

As a part of treatment patient should kept in isolation to prevent transmission.group of antibiotic tretment should be provide to treat the infection.this should be given atleast for six month period inorder to prevent the growth of acteria completely.otherwise there is a chance of reoccurence of disease.moreover,direct observation therapy is available to help the people to take right dose of medicines.if only one antibiotic give ,it can allow other bacteria to resistant that drug.thus,people shou,d take four antibiotics for 2 month and continue 2 antibiotic for 4 to 7 month according to the suputum and x ray results.antibiotics usually use for tuberculosis treatment are isonized,Rifampin,pyrazinamide,Ethambutol.so etimes,streptomycin also used with this combination.In serious conditions surgery is needed to remove the lung lib which is effected.

Patient who infected with tuberculosis should take   higher amou t of vitamins and minerals which is assist to fight against disease.and also help to regain strength and healthy body.diet should co tain green leafy and dark co,our vegetables,yellow or orange colour fruits,which contains anti oxidants such as orange,mango,.vitamin A and vitamin C rich food.a lot of whole grain should take such as bread and cereals.unsatturated fat should be taken. And should avoid high fat ,cholesterol,sugar,content food. Avoid stimulants like alcohol,cofee,caffaine.

Assess the patient for sign and symptoms of i fection and complications.identify therisk factors of disease and take measures to tackle it.instructthe patient to close the mouth with tissue or cloth while coughing to prevent spitting.proper disposal of affected material should be done.appropriate hand washing techniquies should be followed before and qfter each procedure.monitor vital signs frequently especially temperature.monitor colour of sputum,character and amount and document it.find out the presence of haemoptysis.check the patients cooperation on drug therapy.selection of well balanced meals and inform dietitian about patients requirements.negative presure isolation should be applied to prevent transmission of infection.assess the breath sounds,rate and rythum.semi fowlers position should be provide to ease breathing.coughing and deep breathing excercise to drain out secretion.increase hydration up to 2500 ml if not contra indicated.administer medications accordi g to doctors order.
