Given, The mass of a rock = 9 kg

We know,

Work done = Force * displacement

The work done is a vector product of force and displacement.

As the displacement from New York to Boston is in x -direction and the gravitational force in y-direction.

So, the work done is zero.

But it also depends on the difference in the level each city according to the sea level. If there is some difference in the sea level of departing point and landing point then, the work done will be the product of gravitational force and the difference.
