Recent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have shown that the rate of STIs in older adults are rising. Develop an educational campaign to educate older adults about safe sex practices.

It is true that the rate of sexually transmitted disease in older adults are increase. Here are some tips to educate them about it.

  • Check the background of your partner and ask whether they have done any screening test for sexually transmitted disease .
  • Ask for any illegal drug usage which can also spread by using hypodermic needles.
  • Get tested for human immunodeficiency virus an sexually transmitted disease as it the best way to protect , because it usually does not have any symptoms and sometime the initial sign such as fatigue can be misunderstood as aged related problems.
  • Use of contraceptive barriers and lubricants can reduce the risk, but make sure that there is no cut or sore which increase the risk of infection.
  • Open up to a health care professionals , they provide additional information about it and can also solve your common sexual problem.
  • Demonstrate an awareness about the optimal quality of life.
