Use the 5 characteristics of PERSON (age, sex/gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion) that are used in epidemiologic studies. For each characteristic, explain how it is associated with the distribution of health outcomes in a population by selecting an example of a specific disease. (You may use a different disease for each characteristic of PERSON or you may choose a single disease for all.) Ensure that your statements are factual and not just personal observations

Answer: The health outcomes influences by various factors. It is also influenced by age, gender, race, socioeconomic status as well as religion. The cardiovascular disease is a chronic disease.

Age: As person age, the risk of cardiovascular disease increases. Older people are more prone to get heart diseases such as heart attack.

Sex: Females are more prone to the cardiovascular disease as most of the women are obese and hence it increases risk of the heart disease. So, they need to be concern about the weight management.

Ethnicity: The African American are at high risk of developing chronic diseases due to their living style as well as lack of trust on traditional medicine.

Socioeconomic status: People below poverty level are unable to get nutrients and proper food. Hence it increases thr risk of diseases. The children suffers from malnutrition.

Religion: Religious beliefs causes the spiritual support. Most of the people do not eat fish and non vegitarian foods. This causes lack of protein intake and hence they become prone to heart disease.
