It is difficult to place mental health high on the public health agenda of low- and middle-income countries that face an enormous burden from communicable diseases. Which evidence-based arguments might you make to challenge the notion that mental health is a luxury item on the health agenda of such countries?

Mental health is considered as one of the basic needs of the person. It is as important as the physical health problems. In low and middle income countries they were facing lots of problem with the management of mentall health problem. WHO itself defines the health as the wellbeing of all the dimentions of life. So it has got the importance of mental health. The person canot be productive to his high level if he is not mentally stable. The problem he will be facing will be more and more and the it will act as the burden to the country and it will affect the preson, the society and the country. The problem facing with the mental health issues is that most of the time the person who is suffering from the illness is not aware of the illnes. So the community or the society has the responsibility to identify the problem and get the treatment.

Another major problem is stigma and attached with the mental health, as it may not be considered as an illness, and they will not go to hospital. The people has little knowledge about the same and the treatmrnt, so the main action to be taken to improve the knowledge along with the treatment aspects.
