Diverticula disease, as it is commonly unknown, is rare under 30 years of age and is seen more commonly as the age advanves. Multiple diverticula of the volon are very common in westr n societies, probably due to ingestion of low fibre diet but is seen much less frequently in tropical countries and in japan.

Diverticulosis is often asymptomatic and may be detected as an incidental finding at autopsy. However, a proportion of patients developclinical symptoms such as low abdominal pain, distension, constipation, and sometimes intermittent bleeding

Avoid junk food, beverages and masala foods.

Include fibre rich diet.

Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption

Avoid bendings and weight liftings.

Generally we used to forget about side effects of medication and preventive steps in a counselling to patient.

To avoid these mistakes We have to plan the steps in patient counselling process. Soap format and explaining the pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapy in a detailed process to the patient helps to avoid the mistakes.
