Answer #1

Turf toe is a type of sprain injury to metatarsophalangeal joint of toe which results in pain, bruising and swelling of foot below the toe joint. The two exercises recommended would be Shin dorsiflexor release and soleus release. The main reason of choosing these two exercises is that these exercises follow steps in a systematic manner and help to complete exercise with much less weight on the affected leg.First exercise is Shin Dorsiflexor release which could be performed on both foot for at least 5 minutes duration. To start with, find a surface which is firm and measure about knee length. place the lacrosse ball below in front of shin and slowly kneel down.Allow more body weight to lacrosse ball slowly while bending knees simultaneously.Try to slowly move foot up and down until pain is reduced in that area.In order to Target whole muscle groups, move lacrosse ball around many pain spots.Second exercise would be Soleus release in which the person has to sit on the ground then, place calf muscle of one foot on top of lacrosse ball and place another foot over the first one to add a mild pressure which is followed by rolling over the ball up and down.Stop rolling for 30 seconds when you find a pain spot and again resume exercise when discomfort is reduced.
